POWER OF TAIWAN IN GLOBAL TECHNOLOGY.

TAIWAN is an island country in the southeast of China, the estimated distance is 100-160 km from the Chinese mainland. It is one of the countries that is the eye of the world in the field of technology.

TAIWAN is one of the leading countries in producing the best IT technology products. The International Institute for Management Development ranked Taiwan number 8 out of 64 large countries with advanced technology in IT.

In IT technology, Taiwan is focused on and specialized in the manufacture of semiconductors, and chipsets for phones, computers, and sensitive military equipment. This trip to Taiwan has started in Yuma in 1974 when Taiwan decided to invest more energy in the production of chipsets and other types of semiconductors.

This industry was fast and by 2002 it was already a technology threat to the world, and at the beginning of 2007, Taiwan was already ahead of the United States and Korea in the production of semiconductors.

In Taiwan there is a factory called TSMC which is the only factory in the world with advanced technology for making Chipsets (processors) for phones, computers and other electronic devices as well as other semiconductors.

TSMC creates processors like A Bionic (Apple), Intel, Snapdragon, Kirin, etc. There are many companies. There are also other factories like MediaTek, (Foxconn and Wistron) these are the only factories that make all the iPhones in the world. There are also Acer Computer manufacturers.

There are more than 50 companies serving the world in Taiwan. Take this picture of the island of China in the middle considering also the contribution that China has to many countries in the world.

Taiwan's success has been greatly contributed by the government by funding and investing in domestic research in IT. This has brought the nation great results.

Taiwan accounts for half of the overall production of microchips that are critical to the functioning of mobile phones, consumer electronics, cars, military equipment and more. South Korea, the closest competitor, has about 17 percent of the overall market. But Taiwanese chips are the smallest and fastest, and its foundries account for 92 percent of the most advanced designs.

The industry's production in 2009 totaled US$39 billion, placing it first in the world for market share in IC manufacturing, packaging, and testing and second for IC design. Despite the effects of the global financial crisis, which lasted from 2007 to 2010, on sales and exports, the industry has recovered, with businesses reporting record profits in 2010.

Taiwan led the world in 300 nm, 90 nm, and 60 nm manufacturing capacity in 2010, and by the middle of 2011 it was predicted to overtake Japan in terms of overall IC fab capacity.

Taiwan had assumed undisputed leadership of the world's semiconductor business by 2020, with Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) alone accounting for more than 50% of the market.
